During this stint, engaged in serious campaign against alcohol and drug abuse including monitoring law enforcement and devising new strategies to combat the vice. Initiated a programme to test all alcoholic drinks in the country for their suitability for human consumption in 2014 where NACADA collected from across the country over 3,000 brands of alcoholic drinks for this purpose. This was a feat that no other chairman had or has ever attempted in the war against illicit brews.
Attended many national and international forums including UNODC seeking to bring a unified and coherent policy framework for the entire world, noting that addiction is indeed a disease and addicts should not be demonized because they need treatment and rehabilitation.
